"Beautiful quiet room, particularly comfortable bed, friendly staff. Beware that there is no elevator and the stairs are narrow and steep. Sometimes felt like too much at the end of a long sightseeing day. Lively pub with good food, surprisingly couldn't hear it a bit from the room!"

"Terrible communication from the host - I emailed a few times and the responses were very slow, also checking in at 4 pm and checkout at 10 am is unbelievable, when they charged me almost £200 for only 18 hours! I tried to communicate with the host, they weren’t very responsive. However, they kept sending me generic messages over and over again, including repeatedly telling me that check-in is at 10 am. Will not be staying here again."

I was worried about the availability of AC/Air-conditioner/Air conditioning given the heat wave stretching across London and Europe. It is a very charming historic building that's been stylishly updated in a books/authors/library theme consistent with the academic setting of many nearby universities. "This place advertises an airport shuttle. This is FALSE! The first thing I asked about was the shuttle as it was the main reason for choosing this hotel. They told me no, there is no shuttle nor has there been for a long time. Other than that, the room was small with four tiny, and very old, single beds and it was hot and stuffy. We also couldn’t get the free breakfast because we had to leave extra early since there was no airport shuttle! NOT RECOMMENDED!"
