We were traveling with four teenagers, and they very generously upgraded us to beautiful suites. Food at the hotel is excellent. Everything was clean and comfortable. "The property looks like a five star hotel but unfortunately it is not. It is understaffed, staff are not always helpful…(some staff are excellent but clearly too far stretched) whilst others are poor.A leaking shower base meant my trousers got wet, instead of offering to sort them (as I would expect for a conde Nast hotel) I was told to dry them with a hairdryer. No turn down service, and we were offered a free drink to compensate, asked for baileys - but there was a huge problem with that and...

"I have stayed at this hotel close to 20 times. As I checked in I was told I was upgraded. The room however was smaller than I have ever been in at this hotel before. I very much doubt I was upgraded. Very disappointing."

"Can’t beat the location. Room was very clean and all of staff were very helpful. Hotel is beautiful. Great location within walking distance of the Palace and Elizabeth tower and tube. Can’t beat it. Highly recommend. Plenty of pubs nearby too."

"This has been our “go-to” hotel for twenty plus years. Something has changed on this visit. We arrived only to find water dripping from ceiling in bathroom! Alternative room was next to outdoor bar/seating area — meaning loud. The GM was kind to provide a one night-free apology which, while appreciated, was not the wonderful experience we have come to receive at The Stafford. I hope they can recreate the old beauty of their property since this experience fell far short of historic standards!"

"My favorite hotel in London. since 1963 The Staff are always accommodating and this year, they even celebrated my birthday. Breakfast is not only traditionally English but magnifically displayed. No request to big, they happily serve. M&S and Victoria Station right out their back door. The Mews and Palace just an easy walk with shops and restaurants to temp any purse or palate."
