"The steps up to the rooms are quite steep. Room 21 was very small; it is much smaller than any room we’ve stayed in before. Managing two large suitcases required strategic piecemeal unpacking and repacking. The twin beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was excellent."

"This location was unusually nice. Yes, the rooms are above a pub, but it was very quiet, at least while we were there. The staff were very nice and helpful. The parking is a bit of a walk, down the street at the local race track, which has a very secure locked gate to their lot. It was included in the price and wasn't an issue for us. "Lovely hotel, great location, staff could not do enough for you and breakfast freshly cooked with huge amount of choice."

"No parking at this property is an issue and paying for parking only adds to the cost. Rooms were a good size but the beds are small considering the space that there is. Quilts are great if the weather is cold but the room is warm and even with aircon on and set at 20 degrees we were hot. Ugly cumbersome mugs to drink a cup of tea from. Breakfast is average."

"Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The only thing that was disappointing was when returning to my locker in the spa changing rooms the key broke in two whilst trying to get the locker open. I had to ask someone to inform staff who then got the locker open eventually minus a pound. The lockers were in need of updating."

"We had a love 2 night stay in The Old Coffee Tavern. The staff are all very friendly and helpful The bed was very comfortable and a good size, we both slept really well Good generous tea, coffee and milk. Normally you just get enough for 2 teas or coffees each but we had about twice this which was really good. The bar has a good atmosphere with good selection of food and drink. It does need a general overhaul with the skirting coming away in some areas and a general redecoration"

"Lovely clean room, included fridge, ironing board, iron as well as the usual things you'd expect like tea/coffee facilities, desk, TV, toiletries, hair dryer. Comfy bed. I'd recommend to stay here but if you're a light sleeper you may need ear plugs as occasional traffic can be heard. Excellent breakfast choice, cooked breakfast made fresh to order. Would definitely stay here again "

"A very nice place and excellent pub food. We stayed in the "annex" across the street from the pub. As they warned, the staris were steep, so those with mobility issues may have trouble. The room was large and the bathroom was good. We only requested room cleaning once during our 6-night stay. The only minor issue was it seemed the common hallways and our room floor was not vacummed. All other services were excellent. We would definitely return to the Rose & Crown."

"Room was clean and nicely presented. There is significant building work taking place so restaurant not open (which they did pre-warn me about,), and skeleton staff. However, the staff were super helpful and friendly. Everything closes at 8pm ( bar, front gates etc) so not a place to stay if you are looking to relax of an evening outside of your room. "
