"Initially we were thrilled to stay here, as the pub manager showed us to our room, carried one of our suitcases and assured us that the waters & snacks would be replenished every day. Discovered after one shower that the shower gel was empty. I emailed the establishment asking for it to be refilled, and even left the top of the bottle on the bath mat as a hint. Never received a reply to my email, and had to leave a note on the third day asking to refill the shower gel, and to leave snacks as...

"A lovely hotel just a stone’s throw from St Paul’s Cathedral, with an excellent selection of places to eat right on the doorstep. The room was small but perfectly normal for London, comfortable and well laid out to maximise the space. Breakfast was excellent, with loads of choice. The entrance was step free and the rooms were accessible. The aircon was excellent especially as London was in the midst of a heatwave! My only minor gripe was the bathroom’s sliding door, which was a bit stiff to open...

"A charming, very trendy and modern hotel in the heart of the clerkenwell district of London. Extremely helpful and friendly international staff. We had a great time. Ask for a quiet room, facing the side or back of the hotel. Just far enough from all of the tourist attractions to feel like you’re actually in the heart of London without all of the crowds."

"A great little hotel. Lovely, clean room, & pretty spacious for London, perfect for a one night getaway. Breakfast was table service (no buffet), but a good choice on the menu and overall good quality. I would definitely consider staying again!"

"Perfect stay at The Hoxton - the room was lovely - quiet, well laid out and the bed was comfy too. The bar area and cafe were great and the upstairs roof terrace was fabulous. The staff were welcoming, friendly and really helpful. The location was perfect for us - close to Waterloo, Southwark and Blackfriars tube stations so we could easily get around. It was a short walk to Southbank too for all the bars and restaurants, but quiet at night. We loved it."

"Plausible time travel decor - ambience conjures late 18th, early 19th c origin of building (in fact very eclectic but why quibble). Room comfortable and nothing lacking. Was provided with french press coffee maker for coffee service in mornings, nice touch. Plumbing also a whiff of days long gone: claw-foot tub with brass handles and regulator."

"Great location with easy access to several Underground Trains. Wi-Fi worked very well. We had trouble with the TV in the bedroom at it was replaced after we notified the front desk. We were on the 5th floor and did not have trouble with the noise...but it is there for those that are light sleepers. Great to have a kitchen and washer for clothes. Very helpful indeed."
