We also asked for a kettle in our room which was much better than walking down the corridor in my night dress to get a drink from the drinks station in the corridor. We never were able to use our reservation and did not stay after paying in full. I called earlier in the day to confirm, and they gave me the lockbox location and code, but upon arrival by taxi (after midnight) there were no keys in the box, leaving us alone outside with no car. "Clean room, but the shower needs some mould magic to remove all the black mould from the shower. We stayed for 2 nights and didn't get any housekeeping during our stay, which was a bit disappointing as we would've liked fresh towels. Good location and there is parking, although it did look quite busy. Didn't try the breakfast, as it ended at 10.00am, which we thought was a bit early for a weekend morning. "

"Top level floors have rooms with slanted ceilings. This takes up air space and makes those rooms a bit awkward to move. The tanks up there make loud noises when filling too. May be a more pleasant stay if you book rooms on the 1-2 floor. Nice bar/brunch area downstairs and friendly staff. Near downtown."

"A nice twin room overlooking the rear of the hotel and kitchen extraction which meant we had to close the windows when breakfast started. It's a noisy, creaky hotel so no lie in. Room was clean but other areas of hotel felt not so. There was a random mop and bucket of dirty water on the stairs the whole time we were there. Staff very friendly and helpful. Parking easy (on a sunday) with £7 permit from hotel. Breakfast was lovely, a decent choice and English breakfast items were great. Great...

"My room was great. Comfortable bed, excellent bathroom, and the coffee sachets in the room were the best I've ever tasted. The location is so central to all I wanted to visit. All this in a 600 year old place is something special. Highly recommend."
