"The property is gorgeous and so close to the beach and restaurants. We had the king bungalow tucked into the jungle landscape. Very private and quiet. My only complaint would be that the water pressure was not fantastic in the shower. I have found this to be typical in the area. I did not bring it up to the hotel staff as it was not a big deal, just a nuisance when trying to wash my hair. The room has mosquito repellent lotin but it is with citronella. You will definitely want something stronger if you plan to hang out in the hammock and are a mosquito magnet like me! Overall, it was a fantastic stay and we would book here again."

"I chose The Reef 28 for our honeymoon, expecting an elegant, premium experience based on their marketing. Unfortunately, the advertisement for this hotel is heavily misleading, and we were incredibly disappointed by the reality of our stay. I strongly advise future guests to be aware of the following issues before booking: The promotional pictures are incredibly misleading. The Reef 28 does not have a private beach on the property. When you inquire about enjoying the beach shown in their photos, you are told you have to visit their sister properties and they demand an extra daily fee for the privilege. Do not expect a true all-inclusive experience. We quickly discovered that nearly half of the items on the restaurant menus are not actually included in the package. There is no dinner buffet available. If your flight lands later in the day or you check in late, you will find yourself completely out of luck for food on the property. Yo may be forced to leave the hotel and spend more money or they will offer you the latest dinner time with no options left. The only buffet the hotel offers is for breakfast, and it is severely lacking. There are barely five options available per food category, making it repetitive and completely underwhelming for a resort of this supposed caliber. We booked this property expecting a stress-free, all-inclusive honeymoon, but instead, we were met with a nickel-and-dime approach and false promises. "

"The property was gorgeous. It was never very good for someone with mobility issues. They had no dinner buffets, the food options ib our opinion were not good at all. We even ate outside of the resort because the food was not good. We got served water with no ice constantly. I paid for a swim out pool and the ladder only had 2 small steps which we could barely get in and out. The staff was all very friendly. Overall I just probably wouldn’t return because of the price I paid wasn’t worth it with everything we experienced"

"I was very pleased with the family condo I stayed in. It had everything we needed, was comfortable, complete kitchen, even a washer for the clothes. I was dissapointed when I learned at check-in that they come to clean only every 3 days and if you want clean towels outside of those days you need to pay 15 USD and order them 24 hs in advance. On top of that one of the days they were supposed to come to clean they did not come, did not replace towels, toilet paper, tissue, shampoo, conditioner and soap. Gladly the front desk gathered some towels and tissue for us till next day. The receptionist that registered us the first day was not nice. She seemed aggravated by us refusing to wear a 24/7 bracelet that she wanted to put on us and said we could not take it off during our whole vacation so security would not give us any problems to get into the building. I requested to just have them in my purse instead, which seemed to irritate her. The rest of the staff we interacted with were always pleasant and helpful, and never once were we asked to show the bracelet in question. "
