"I accidentally booked the wrong kind of room, but the staff there was quick to fix my mistake and put us in a room that could accommodate 2 people. The lobby is huge, which is nice because there were so many people coming in/out. They give you a locker to put your shoes in, as you cannot wear shoes in the hotel. We stayed in a room with 2 twin beds that I thought was pretty large by Japanese hotel standards. The onsen was open during most day time hours; of note, people are not allowed to have tattoos when you go into them. There are free sweet treats and free late night ramen available as well. We prepaid for breakfast, and I am so glad we did because it was the best hotel breakfast I ever had. There was an option to add breakfast to your stay if you initially did not have it included in your reservation. Washing clothes was free, but drying them was 100 yen per cycle. The hotel is located in a quieter part of the city a few blocks away from the canal, where there is a really nice walking/running/biking trail. Although it is in a quieter part of the city, there are a lot of restaurants/cafes nearby. Also very close to the Kyoto station and Shichijo station. I would 100% recommend staying here if you were to visit Kyoto!"
"The breakfast was good, but the bread selection wasn’t.
The snacks in the guest lobby was always finished, because they kept giving small portions and very few ones too. The options for vegetarians was minimal.
Room service took an hour just for dessert and then when we called them to take the trolley, they took around half an hour.
When they cleaned our room they mixed all our products together including our used water bottles together, which is unhygienic and messy. We kept our products on different sides of the sink so we wouldn’t mix them up, but they decided to rearrange it they way they liked. They’re only supposed to clean!
We initially had a room with a view of the pagoda, but it was covered with all the construction within the hotel that we didn’t even open our curtains."
"This place is beautiful! If you’re looking for an awesome spot in central Kyoto within walking distance to some major locations, look no further. We loved everything about this stay. Clean rooms, great service, and a traditional vibe. Thank you for a wonderful stay in Kyoto! "
"The Four Seasons kyoto is an exceptional, brand-new hotel that exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, everything felt pristine and thoughtfully designed.
The rooms are gorgeous—spacious, elegant, and incredibly comfortable, with an attention to detail that truly sets this property apart. Cleanliness is impeccable throughout the hotel.
Breakfast was outstanding—fresh, beautifully presented, and one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve had in Japan.
The ofuro in the spa is divine—a serene, deeply relaxing experience and the perfect way to unwind after exploring the beautiful garden with beautiful shrine and koi fish.
We genuinely loved every second of our stay. Four Seasons kyoto has raised the bar and is now one of our favorite hotels anywhere. We cannot wait to return."
