"This was exactly what we wanted. We got the traditional Japanese experience in Kyoto. The transit was a small walk through a quiet and safe neighborhood. They had a restaurant that we ate at and a nice traditional Japanese breakfast. The small beds on the floor were a surprise to us all how comfortable they were. Loved this experience!"

"Lovely traditional style hotel! The room has a very nice homely feeling and the beds are very comfortable. The location is also 15 minutes walking distance from Kyoto Station and is right across the road from the serene Nishi Hongan-ji Temple."

"Everything was amazing here! We checked in late after a long day of travel and were immediately greeted with such kindness. Everything was clean and the staff was courteous and helpful. They were eager to answer our questions about the city and offer recommendations for our stay. My husband and I were blown away and will come back on our next trip to Kyoto, as well as would recommend this Ryokan to any of our friends! Thank you, Yamadayan Ryokan, for an amazing stay! "

"Very traditional from your normal hotel. Close to teain station and many restaraunts near. Staff was by far the most helpful with anything you needed. Small breakfast area on Floor 2 each day "

"宿のご主人･女将さんのお二方とも、とても親切で、サービスも行き届いています。朝からいろいろな種類のおかずがいただけて、またご飯もお櫃で出されます。部屋のお風呂もありますが、いつも貸切風呂を利用させていただいています。本当にゆったり出来、疲れも取れて満足しています。予約がなかなか取れないのがとても残念です。"

"strategic location, near to kyoto station especially Higashi Honganji temple. We check in very late and still could find the owner waiting for us. Shared bathroom but so far no queue. The room was wide and comfortable enough for 4 persons."
