"Our stay at Monkbridge was outstanding from the moment we arrived. In fact even before arrival with the informative welcome email explaining check in and directions etc. We were so warmly welcomed and shown to our room, everything explained so well. We stayed in room 1 which had a beautiful four poster bed, it was so gorgeous. Immaculately clean. So traditional and individual yet had all the modern comforts of a posh hotel. A couple of small things: 1- It would have been nice to know there was a flight of narrow stairs to get to room, 2- Bathroom sink is blocked by overhanging cabinets, toothbrushing very difficult, 3- bathroom door drifts open against the bed unless closed and then the bathroom is very hot. "

"Cant beat the location. Just next to York Minster and tons of restaurants. Walking distance to the Shambles and almost everything. The only issue that actually makes our stay not comfortable is that the hotel does not have Air conditioner. We were there during heat wave and this make the stay in the room really unbearable. The temperature in the room was so much higher than the outside. The staff was nice and try to give us 2 fans and a bucket of ice. Still felt very hot. The breakfast was set...
