"What a great room for the family! The grounds are pretty with unique plants. There’s no pool but it’s one street to the beach. The hotel has sand buckets and folding chairs to use. On Wed evenings there’s a street market two blocks away. Great restaurants everywhere. I loved the clean, fresh-smelling pillows and sheets."

"It’s all about the location! Centrally located in the heart of Carlsbad village , perfect for the Taste of Carlsbad. The room was clean and the site was very welcoming. We will definitely return, but pay the extra money to get a room with a better view."

"Check was originally at 4pm and they didn’t accommodate until 5pm. Very disorganized at the buffet, long lines and reservations didn’t help. I would never recommend this hotel to any of my family."

"If I could give this hotel zero stars, I would. This was by far the worst hotel stay I've ever experienced. The room was disgusting and clearly had not been properly cleaned. There were cockroaches crawling around, which was absolutely unacceptable and made us feel uncomfortable the entire stay. To make matters worse, there were no towels available, no real lobby area, and no management on-site to speak with when problems arose. We repeatedly tried to get assistance, but there was nobody...

"Just need to be a bit cleaner inside the room. Mattress is older and has clear stains on in. No toilet paper dispenser in bathroom. Water takes 3-5 minutes to get warm after you begin running it."

"This hotel didn't have anything as stated in their description. The tub leaked, the bathroom facet was loose, and we had to ask for tools and shampoo. Our feet were black from walking on the floor. To get clean towels we had to give them towels to get clean ones. The pool is under repair and not available."

"If you’re looking for a minimalist, trendy and clean hotel look know further. The bed is very comfortable with the softest sheets. The donuts and coffee in their outdoor common area was a tasty surprise. There’s a healthy food market/deli across the street, a good brew pub on the corner and a donut shop within walking distance. Other than that, South Oceanside and this hotel are car/UBER dependent."
