This was our second time staying at the Shakespeare. We love the location with the hop on hop off bus stop at the corner and Paddington station a short walk away. Our room was comfy and clean, the staff were very nice and helpful. Check-in and checkout was a simple and quick process. We definitely would stay here again if we are back in London

We chose this hotel on the basis of its reasonable price given the fact that it’s in such a convenient location. In these respects, it didn’t disappoint. What’s more, it was kept clean throughout our stay and offered a useful left luggage service. The room was quite small, however, and very noisy - as other guests have noted - due to the proximity of trains. It could also really do with some investment regarding furniture and decor.

Location is close to Paddington Station and Hyde Park. The room walls are thin. we happened to have a group of loud school girls around us and we coould hear them too well. When we inquired about their breakfast the night bedore, a staff member said we would have to pay for breakfast before we could see the menu or the breakfast area. We would chose the general location again, and try another hotel next time.

It's a good value for the price because the access is very convenient for tourists. The room is not very spacious, but the shower and washroom are separate. One thing that could be improved is the smell coming from the bathroom detergent; it's too strong for me. However, everything else is good.

The personal from the breakfast buffet were super friendly and nice. The personal from reception were ok. It was very disappointing that there was no one to help us bring our luggages to our room on the third floor, and I was with my elderly parents, so I had to carry up 3 big suitcase by myself. The room was also smaller than expected, even though it was a room for 5 people and we were just 3 people. I would say the best part of this hotel is the location, very close to Paddington Station.

Front desk staff were not helpful at all. Place is old with steep stairs. No one to help carry bags. The rooms were very small and stuffy. The fan provided was broken. Breakfast was lame, right at 9:30 they take your food or coffee away and kick you out. The bathrooms extremely tiny. Towels threadbare. Location was great!!!! Definitely will NOT stay again.

The staff was very helpful. The luggage check in was very convenient. The location was excellent very close to Paddington station. The breakfast was very nice. The shower pressure was non existent. The room looked clean but we had some mishaps. It was very hot with no a/c and the fan wasn’t great.

Location was great , just next to Paddington station, only spoke once to staff at check in - pleasant - got in late . No lift , had to carry suitcases up three flights of stairs, Unfortunately picked the 3 hottest days ever To stay in London , and fan for room not adequate. Location was excellent, easy access to Paddington station. Bathroom facilities very good and the room was well equipped and comfortable. Despite being on the first floor the down side of its convenient location was the noise produced by the trains. I would not like to stay here for a week

Room was small and clean. On the ground floor so could hear and feel the subway trains which shook the room. Could hear all the water running through all the pipes from other rooms and the doors banging loudly as people went past our room. Only saw staff when we signed in and checked out. No air con just a small fan to plug in.

The hotel itself was decent and well located, however my room left a lot to be desired. The toilet was very inconsistent with flushing; sometimes it flushed, sometimes it didn't. The shower temperature was very difficult to control and often ended up scalding hot. My sheets were not cleaned properly; the first day I noticed a few small blood stains and I had to specifically request new sheets. Would not stay here again.
