"Beautiful hotel. The rooms are as pictured on the web site. Nautical themed and in sparkling condition. I was put on a floor with a wedding party. I didn't want to deal with any potential rowdiness and asked to be moved and was immediately accommodated. The staff are friendly and helpful. I did not use the pool, but I heard a young family say it was very nice. This hotel is very conveniently located, within easy walking distance of Salem's popular attractions. "

"The room was great- exactly as described. The gentleman owner was kind - lived on the premises and spent a lot of our stay mowing the lawn and working in the gardens. Would be a bit uncomfortable for femme people traveling alone, but a good set up for people looking for conversation or company. "

"Unfortunately, when I booked this hotel, I was not notified that they were under construction until almost a week later. In addition to that, we were assured that the construction would not interrupt our stay. Not only did we not have access to the amenities that were the reason we booked the hotel, but we also did not have access to a decent breakfast in the morning. "Wonderful hotel, very atmospheric with large rooms. Location is decent but parking can be a challenge if it’s busy. Note - this property is from 1834 so has no elevator and is not ADA friendly if you have a walking disability. This is more awareness than a negative since its charm is its age."
