"What used to be a beautiful building is now in a terrible state. It is in desperate need of a refurbishment and a good clean. It’s in a terrible state and the public areas are worn, tatty and dirty. The breakfast was inedible, badly cooked and cold items were stale. Bed was comfortable and clean, bathroom functional but dated. Staff really lovely and trying their best in very difficult conditions."

"We had a lovely stay and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The food was great, with plenty of options and good quality throughout our stay. The only thing worth noting is that some facilities, such as the swimming pool, require an additional charge if you wish to use them. However, this did not take away from our overall experience. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily return in the future. Thank you to all the staff...

"Contemporary fixtures, quiet room and comfortable bed. A lack of places to dry towels if 2 people sharing the room. Excellent food."

"This property is being refurbished and during the day there is constant noise of drilling and banging. The walls of my room were vibrating from the drilling which seemed to be directly above. I received no advance warning of this work and it is not detailed in Expedia’s information about the place. The work starts promptly at 8.30 in the morning although Iheard builders moving around and talking at around 6.50am, which is unacceptable. In addition, there was no hot water on my second morning....

"We stayed during the hottest May on record, and the AC system in the rooms was not operational as we were informed by the front desk, that this functionality is only switched on for summer. As the room windows only open a few inches, it made for a hot and uncomfortable few nights stay."
