"I enjoyed my stay at Torrington Hall. I was in St Albans for work and needed a room at short notice. The self check-in instructions were sent to me in advance and were very clear. The room was lovely, with good wifi, a desk to work on, comfortable bed, and a smart TV so I could login to Netflix/Prime. The bathroom was large with a good size shower which was hot with good pressure. There was a fridge in the room and tea/coffee facilities which were very useful. Being able to use the kitchen...

"The property is small and cozy as described, facilities are tidy and clean. We couldn’t receive the check-in instructions until we call at check-in time, the problem is solved quickly. A reminder that the toilet door is a reused old front door, that means when you lock it, you should lift the handle up first and then turn the button. The shower door needs a bit hard push to lock and avoid water came out. Overall is satisfactory! If a mirror added inside door the wardrobe, it would be...

"Communication was non-existent - despite sending plenty of messages through the Expedia app, in the end I only got to speak with the owner when I was stood right outside the property. The beds are next level uncomfortable - very springy and one of them had a proper dip in its middle. Not recommended."

"The hotel was ideal for the one night stay we needed prior to attending a funeral locally. The staff at check in/out were professional, polite and friendly. The restaurant staff were also very friendly, attentive and engaged in conversation. The breakfast was exceptional, with plenty of choice depending on guest’s preferences! Highly recommend!"

"AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! There was no hot water at all to wash your hands or even have a shower. The whole place is dirty and falling apart. When I requested a refund they accepted at reception but since are providing no assistance. Phone numbers don’t work. Email addresses send generic responses which gets nowhere"

"Staff were polite and helpful, the room was serviceable and quiet. The furnishings looked quite tired though, both the rooms and hotel in general could probably use some renovation. This is a great place if you're only staying a couple of nights."
