"Staying here was such an enjoyable, relaxing, and special experience. The breakfast and dinner kaiseki were delicious and allowed us to try a variety of Japanese dishes. It's a lot of food so come to each meal hungry. All the staff we interacted with were kind and very helpful. The indoor and outdoor onsen was the perfect way to unwind after long days exploring the Hakone area. "Staff were very kind and respectful. Room was clean and spacious. Room had a gorgeous view of the river and trees. We enjoyed the very authentic traditional Japanese food served at breakfast and dinner. The public onsen is fantastic and the area also includes a sauna and a cold plunge. Be aware that guests with large tattoos are not permitted. Would not recommend the Japanese traditional room for guests over 5’8ft as the doorways are very low. My boyfriend had hit his head numerous times....

"We had an excellent relaxing visit in Hakone at the Prince Hotel. The Japanese bath is exceptionally beautiful, has an outdoor tub from which the sunrise over the mountains can be seen. We enjoyed the extensive breakfasts- don't pass them up. We don't golf or play tennis, but used this resort setting as a base for sightseeing and hiking the region's mountain trails."
