"Excellent ”boutique” hotel with lots of nice amenities. The staff were extremely helpful and most spoke excellent English. The rooms were small but very thoughtfully designed and equipped and the bed was extremely comfortable. We slept very well. Nice touches included things like a filtered water tap for refilling water bottles. The shower was just about the best I have ever used, obvious operation, excellent pressure and a roomy completely enclosed cabin with no nasty curtain. I want one...

"This was the perfect hotel for me and my teenaged son. We were close to a lot of the sites I wanted to see and a quick bus ride from the heart of Kyoto that he wanted to experience. The hotel itself was charming and spacious. Especially after spending a few days in Tokyo, the room felt massive. Two double beds, a living area with TV, separate WC and separate tub/shower. The staff was enthusiastic and cheerful. I can’t recommend this place highly enough! Superb hotel!"

"We had an authentic Japanese experience staying here. The location was perfect - the house was on a quiet street while still being very close to the main attractions in the Gion area.
