"All in all we had a great experience except did not use the pool or gym. Breakfast was made fresh daily and that’s a +++ in my husband’s book. Coffee was delicious, fresh and hot! Dining room was clean! Staff friendly! Enjoyed our stay. We will stay here again when we come back to San Clemente. Thank you."

"The hotel is near the downtown and shops area which is a big plus. Unfortunately the room we stayed in was not the ones that were remodeled. Still had old furniture, curtains with holes and ironing board and iron that's on its last legs. The pictures online made it seem a lot more new than we arrived. "The hotel is quite grand looking and the room was cozy and clean, but there were serious plumbing issues in my room. The hot water handle for the sink was nonfunctional and the handle for the shower came off in my hand. The Surf Break Hotel is right across from the freeway and was quite noisy. You are charged $25 for breakfast and beach rentals like surf boards and bikes. "The room looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in quite some time!! Kitchen was dirty and had seen better days! Full size refrigerator with rust and broken shelving. The floor is so unleavel and sloped, it feels like your in a crocked house attraction!! Black sheets and one black towel..made me wonder how they were sanatized...if at all. The bed smelled of urine. The floor was so dirty i put our 1 towel on the floor to walk on. There were used squirt bottles of shop and shampoo in the bathroom...
