"Overall beautiful resort but not quite the experience we were expecting given price differential over other resorts in area.
Have stayed previously at Hyatt ziva and Garza Blanca which were 40-50% cheaper for all inclusive so my star rating is reflective of that
The food was similar caliber at each experience.
I had fishy sea bass one evening
Cocktails were sadly often too sweet and was surprised not higher level liquor and wine for the price.
Coffee shop was good and nice easy breakfast...

"One of the most beautiful properties we’ve been to! Pricing is a little extra extravagant, but you get what you pay for! The recreation center at the beach is a blast, food was delicious, staff is exceptional, and even the yoga classes were great! Highly recommend the sea-bobs, snorkeling, and paddle boarding. "This was our first time staying at the Hard Rock. This resort is about a 45 min drive from the SJD airport, quick and safe road. The entertainment at this resort was fantastic. From the live music/bands throughout the day to the nightly shows. We traveled with our 8yr old daughter and she loved the entertainment and the slides at the pool. There are several family friendly pools to choose from and all provided plenty of pool chairs. The buffet (breakfast and dinner) food was ok, but not great....
