"This place will be decent after the renovations are completed. Right now I don't recommend staying there. The business center was taped off and not available. A side exterior door was left propped open at night. An open half used 40 oz malt liquor bottle was left in the stairwell near that open door. There appeared to be a lot of homeless people in the area. The room was very clean and nice. The bathroom/shower were also nice."

"Totally under construction. I feel like that should be disclosed prior to stay. I would not have stayed there under those conditions. It need the facelift though. I would have preferred not being there during the remodel."

"This hotel is in a safe area but is currently undergoing renovations. It did not impact the rooms during our stay but the pool is currently closed. The amenities are very basic but it was clean. We did not eat there for breakfast so cannot comment on that. Our biggest surprise was that there was no coffee provided in the rooms and not even a plastic cup for water. Our rating would have been higher if those items would have been available without having to go down to the breakfast area. "

"I like The Fairfield Inn because it's the nicest of the hotels on Tunnel Rd. in Asheville. Excellent breakfast & super clean rooms. That are cleaned every day. Soft sheets & great shower. The black out shades were helpful & the window opens a little bit, but makes a difference with fresh air!"

"Our sixth floor suite was very comfortable. A well equipped kitchen, a comfortable living room, a cozy bedroom, and a wonderful view of the mountains all contributed to a very enjoyable stay. "The truth is I got everything I wanted at the hotel but a good night's sleep. The people are helpful. The amenities are great. The rooms are large. But it's a creaky old noisy hotel, and the clomping on the floors above my room kept me awake half the night on multiple nights. Bad guests upstairs? Probably, but a properly built hotel would have deadened some of that noise. Shame, I really wanted to like it."
