"We where very happy with all facility. Overall the only problem we personally was the 3 steps going in and out of the property. The last step out is very steep and would have liked something to hold on too"

"The small double room (322) we had has windows facing an inner yard where the large metal cooking vent/hoods are located. The room has no aircon and we were provided with 2 floor fans but in the heatwave they were hardly effective and the windows had no breeze. The bathroom is compact and only useable for one person at a time. Rooms decorated well and in good repair, plenty of lighting options including under wall mounted side tables. Hallway floors were uneven - lumpy and bumpy carpet."

"I booked a room specifically for the air conditioning on the two hottest nights of the week. I booked the room through Expedia and checked and double checked that the room was listed as having air conditioning. When I arrived I was told the room did not have air conditioning and none were available. I had no other option to stay on such short notice and could not have got a refund anyway as it was booked through a third party. This is completely unacceptable and, quite frankly, unforgivable."

"Firstly, on arrival the allocated bays all had bollards on. I called up and a staff member eventually came out and removed this. Parking is literally opposite the hotel and at £15 a night - till 1pm the following day I was told. Checking in was very easy - I did note the staff member asked if they could do anything for me. "There is no air con and we struggled to get a fan that worked. When we finally nagged so much that we got a fan, it didn’t do anything but blow hot air around the room so we didn’t sleep at all. The room could do with an upgrade - for £200 a night without breakfast it was a lot when it was a dingy room with huge marks on the carpet. No plug sockets near the bed, only two pinned. Bathroom was nice. Bar area looked lovely but was taken over by a wedding. Spa area lovely however my face still...

"We had a suite at the hotel, it was very roomy, full of character and access to a superior breakfast! All well worth the money. Staff were friendly and very helpful too. The only grumble we had, we asked for a fan and there were non available. I've not made this impact the overall stay rating as the weather was unusually extremely hot so the same request had probably came from all rooms - i would say the hotel should have invested in more fans in preparation for the heat wave that week. Check in was easy, with info forwarded the morning of, so we could just get in, get the keys, and be on with our day. "Our room had plenty of space iron/ironing board/hairdryer all provided as well as toiletries Plenty of choice for breakfast and a small but tasty menu in the evening I think there was maintenance work ongoing and the hotel does need a comprehensive overhaul Plenty of parking spaces but location is right in the centre and we didn’t use our car at all during the stay Stars of the break were the staff so friendly and helpful and always had a smile on their faces Thank you !"

"I was a walker arriving at the Nag's Head at 15.30. I was warmly received and shown to my very comfortable room. Although the restaurant was closed on a Tuesday evening, i was provided with a wonderful Chinese meal at a very modest cost. I requested a continental breakfast which was fine. Pick Hill is a lovely small village with a long history, some of which is displayed in the ancient church. "
