"The staff was exceptional. We arrived early before our room was ready and the staff took care of our luggage and directed us to a delightful afternoon tea while we waited. We blew an electrical breaker trying to use an American hairdryer and they promptly got the electricity fixed. They were very flexible with dinner reservations, working around our daytime activities."

"This was the perfect hotel as it was close to a train station literally 3 min walk from the hotel and the train would get you to the centre of Edinburgh. The room was amazing, so was the staff and tge food was delicious!"

"This rustic yet modern building is in walking distance of historic Edinburgh. The room and amenities were excellent, service great, the sister restaurant had excellent food and drinks. Highly recommend this hotel."

"Plug socket sparked and started crackling so took phone of charge. Tried to turn shower on and electrics tripped and hasn’t worked since 23.00. Main light works so assuming it’s not connected to the rooms electrics since: Tv, kettle, chargers, lamps, shower and extension leads won’t work at all. Showers won’t work and no hot water. Reception man said there was fire day before so getting things back and running. Didn’t find out until we checked in and no prior messages or emails indicating...

"Great place to stay. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station. Near all the attractions, with restaurants nearby. Don't miss out."

"The unique property really is excellent. Very old but with updated amenities. The garden behind property is beautiful. The only big problem was very poor wifi (like brutal) and connectivity using your own data plan. Loved the property but likely wouldn’t stay there again as it was just far too difficult to access online resources etc"

"Very well located, spacious and well kept. Unfortunately they put us in a room right at the entrance of their second building in our first night. Our bed was right in front of the main door, so anyone could see us and we could hear every one that was coming in + the cleaning team at 6am next morning. Also the air conditioning was not working. Next day they moved us to a far better room that I believe should better reflect their standards. Make sure you don’t get that 1st family room!"

"Clean rooms, they upgraded our room for a small fee when we asked. Good food and drinks in the many different areas. Golf course was beautiful and the staff was all very accommodating. "
