Some of the communal areas look a bit tired, but staff welcoming and room was great for my needs (staying overnight in area ready for family get together). Great location for Hythe and walk along seafront short drive away."

"Room was lovely. Felt that the bar service was quite slow. Toilets in reception area were in a terrible state on arrival and even worse the following morning - definitely needed to be clean on a more frequent basis. Had drinks in The Snug which was a lovely space but dirty tables and crumbs on the floor. Not what I expected from a four star hotel. Would stay at the hotel agdd as in but they definitely need to up their game."

The hotel is full of character and appears to be housed in a historic building, which gives it a charm that many modern hotels lack. "Parked right outside entrance in semi private parking, very easy registration, room spacious,clean, blackout curtains, and bathroom with wonderful big tub!!! Great Bombay Saturday dinner selection - what a lovely extra surprise. Lovely, attentive and efficient staff, every one, from chefs to reception. Peaceful landscaped grounds for refreshing wander after long drive. Superb value breakfast. Highly recommend."

"The family room was lovely and well equipped for 2 adults and 2 children. A couple of niggles in that the blind was broken in the bathroom and the rubbish bins were a bit on the small side. Staff were really lovely and nothing was any trouble. Breakfast was delicious and we had 1 meal there which was great. Lovely setting next to the river. Would highly recommend"

"We booked 3 nights at the Pegwell and I would say it’s the best hotel in Ramsgate. From getting a nice early check in, to the delicious breakfast every thing was spot on. The walk into Ramsgate is around 40 minutes and is lovely, we found the location perfect, and very quiet. Highly recommend the hotel and Ramsgate for a weekend break."

"Vaughn and Sharon were exceptional hosts. They were very helpful with getting around Dover. Location of their Guest House was very nice and was an easy walk from the Dover train station. It is also located just down the hill from Dover Castle."

"The family room was a good size and clean unfortunately the double bed had a dreadful squeak at every movement! However for one nights stay it was absolutely fine. I needed to wash and sterilise some baby bottles and despite it being 10pm the staff were very helpful and came back to give me access to the kitchen and microwave ( which again was very clean and tidy) we left too early for breakfast but I wouldn’t hesitate to book again for an overnight stop"
