Safari Tentalow in Shiga Prefecture

Loved the location of being nearer the old side of Kyoto. Spacious lobby was lovely along with rooftop bar. Balance between sympathetic design and modern luxury. Breakfast was excellent and very varied to others we had in Japan. Room was good and a generous size. Ground floor didn’t have much light but that was okay as we were out all day. Very clean and convenient hotel. The room was spacious and the facilities excellent. Breakfast at the hotel was good and all the staff were friendly and helpful. There’s plenty of good restaurants and dining options nearby as well.

Check in & out was so quick & easy, especially checking out - you just put your key card into a machine & you’re done. The hotel is in a great area as indicated by the ‘What did you like?’ section above. The rooms were always cleaned & restocked with bottled water, towels, etc.

This was an amazing hotel and the food was beyond words. I am an awkward eater and cannot eat fish and they were so quick to accommodate my dietary needs. I cannot thank the staff at this hotel enough.

The stay was amazing and the staff and really reassuring and helpful in anything you need. They really want you to love the hotel and the history and architectural elements which are amazing and the history of the location and facts about the area . Utilising the areas dinning areas and sake .

Amazing location, lovely staff, lovely rooms. The traditional spa is a great experience and the breakfast is to die for (especially the Japanese options) Truly 10/10. Also, Not sure why the hotel is shown as rated at 3.5 stars as it feels like a 4 to 5 star hotel with all the amenities and quality.

Good location. Just beside the train station. The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was good.
