Our first visit to Mexico and we thought we would try a trusted hotel chain. We were not disappointed. For those wanting great weather, pampering, a dose of nature and a good beach, the Banyan tree is the answer. The walk to the beach from the main hotel could be a little daunting for some, but we did it a coupe of times a day and really enjoyed the wonderful wildlife in the lagoons. Petit Lafitt was perfect for what we wanted. We had toured Mexico City, Merida, Tulum and finally Playa Del Carmen. We were aware this area would be very different to all those I'd mentioned before so opted for somewhere that would be more homely than the larger resorts. Huge property and the cheaper Zen section is actually the nicest, at least in term of the public areas. Service was outstanding, utterly faultless and the food was gourmet level and way above what you'd expect of an all-inclusive. Great location just a 5 minute taxi ride from Playa Del Carmen. Highly recommended.

Amazing stay in Playa del Carmen, checkin was fabulous with Luis (all staff were friendly and helpful), room was spacious, modern, spotlessly clean - hotel is quite new and very tastefully decorated. Lovely rooftop pool and well equipped gym on the ground floor. No restaurant service after breakfast but we knew that and there’s a lot of food choice around. Beautiful luxury resort in Playa Del Carmen. The property is extremely well-maintained with modern amenities, and the staff were very polite and helpful.
