"Lovely apartment in a historic building, ideally located just outside the city centre, but within easy walking distance of all places of interest in York. Nice touch of leaving a bottle of bubbly in the fridge - a good sign that the hosts are attentive. The apartment itself is well furnished and equipped, and really does feel like a home from home. Overall, thoroughly recommended."

"A wonderful, clean,air condtioned room and staff can be contacted 24/7 if any problems. Bed was very comfortable and being left a small bottle of milk in the fridge was a nice touch. "The staff at Ascot House were great. The breakfasts are pretty much set with some exceptions if you don't like something, the chef tries to accommodate when it's possible which is a great thing to be able to offer. The owner June does a great job with keeping Ascot House friendly and accessible to all people. We had a lovely time staying here and visiting York."

"Room cleanliness was poor - bogey stuck to a shower tile. Massive toenail under chair in room. Pretty disgusting. Small room, tiny bathroom, could hardly move in it. No storage space - no wardrobe, no bedside drawers. Very small space to hang about two t-shirts. Tv hung too low. No phone in room. No safe in room. No bottled water. "When checking out our room was different, we are from Arizona and never used anything like this, we had to use the key card to turn on electricity to the room. The bed was comfortable and clean, air conditioner worked great and the shower was excellent. The staff was excellent and answered all my questions.The laundry room was ok, washed all the clothes well, but drying the clothes wasn't that good after an hour still had to let the clothes dry in our room.Kitchen was nice had a dishwasher and...
