What are some of the general tips for travellers to Venice Lido during the COVID-19 outbreak?
The COVID-19 outbreak has triggered huge changes to how we travel. If you're planning an escape to Venice Lido, the following tips will help you navigate this new travelling reality:
  • Before you book a flight, see if any travel restrictions or bans apply — in both your destination and origin. Get up-to-date information by checking official government websites.
  • Requirements state you must wear a face mask at the airport, including at screening checkpoints. Be ready to adjust your mask for ID purposes when asked.
  • Rather than handing a TSA officer your boarding pass, position it directly on the scanner yourself. When that's done, hold it up for inspection.
  • One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now permitted in your carry-on bag. It must be no bigger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll need to take it out of your bag for X-ray screening.
  • Empty everything from your pockets, such as your keys, phone and wallet, and place them in your carry-on rather than the bins. This will minimize handling during the screening process.
  • Transport your food items in a clear plastic bag and also put them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on means it's less likely a TSA agent will need to touch and open your bag for inspection.
