"I appreciated the staff/maintenance looking out for me when I had breakfast and forgot I was near the West Coast seagulls. The gulls had my breakfast when I went inside but the very nice maintenance man was trying to keep them away.
The manager I had read reviews about (Carlos?) was kind to check on me at breakfast the next morning and make sure everything was good.

"Pierpont used to be nice/reasonable PRIOR to 5 years ago. Reno construction began and it is a "historic bldg" so in 3-4 years it has not been completed. I would recommend it for a quick 1 nighter only. I stayed 2 nights and found:
1. restaurant still closed
2. telephone in room did not work. Had to make 2 special trips to office.
3. Bathroom faucet lever came off.
4. Maintenance did not come & turn gas off in fireplace as I made special request."
