"Unacceptable hygiene – mold, dirt, and poor maintenance We stayed here for a weekend with our children and were very disappointed with the cleanliness and condition of the room. The bathroom had a strong moldy smell, and there was visible mold on the ceiling, which is completely unacceptable—especially with kids. The overall hygiene was poor. "Lovely hotel staff polite and friendly checking in, our room was very small and a bit tired looking with some of the fittings looking a bit grubby and tatty and some marks on the wall, The bar and restaurant area were very nice and our breakfast was excellent. I would recommend going for an upgraded room hopefully a bit larger than ours."

"In a lovely historic building set within pleasant grounds, especially as the wisteria was in flower. Very helpful staff, lovely room and comfortable bed. The breakfast was perhaps a little disappointing- dry basic with little choice of healthy cereal or cooked food if you are vegetarian. Overall very good though."
