"The Kamana Lakehouse is exceptional. We felt very well taken care of our whole stay. The front desk staff was extremely accomodating, holding our bags before check in and taking them to our room and booking a taxi for an excursion. The servers and bar staff we're great as well. The food was the best we had on our entire trip to NZ. The included breakfast in the morning is completely worth it! It's easy to get to the wharf via Uber or the bus. You can also walk to the Sunshine Bay Track nearby...

Happy hour was a nice touch and allowed us to meet other guests. The front porch had the most spectacular view of the town and water and was enjoyable to hang out on.The hostesses were gracious, helped with reservations, luggage and parking the car. "Place needed a refit 15 years ago. Terrible condition. Water leak from the ceiling in bathroom, room smells, walls are paper thin, they didn’t enforce the no noise after 10pm rule. DO NOT STAY HERE. "
