"A truly wonderful stay over the festive period. The new spa is lovely and room 452 was SO quiet and spacious, highly recommended. The only downside which I pointed out two years ago is that the shower lets the room down as it’s not powerful enough and looks dated too. A short taxi ride or lovely walk into the centre with everything you could wish for. Please note valet parking is £39.50 and the Soa £45 per person in addition to the room. "A lovely hotel set in beautiful surroundings, offering cosy, comfortable rooms that make for a relaxing stay. There are several pubs nearby, and it’s easy to reach York city centre by bus, or by a scenic 40-minute walk. A great balance of peace and convenience — I’ll definitely be returning."

Breakfast was lovely and fresh, only found out on our second day of stay that I could have requested a tea pot. I also suggested instead of bowls with marmalade/jam, could small pots be provided to put the jam into. "The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The highlight for us were the friendly and helpful staff in every department from checking in, to the bar staff, breakfast staff and those in the Spa. We were very impressed, you choose your staff well, 1st class. We really enjoyed spending the day in the Spa, excellent pool. "
