"Very basic but even for the price the rooms were dusty. Cobwebs hanging off the walls. We had two nights due to a local wedding. Asked to move rooms because the mattress was terrible. Was told all the mattresses are the same and getting upgraded in the winter. Changed rooms, slightly better mattress. Even for a cheap night I'd expect no cobwebs / dust and a decent mattress. Won't go again."

"The bed was quite comfortable and the duvet cover very soft. I didn't expect much as it was on the cheaper side but was positively surprised. I also like how chilled they are about check in and check out. Overall I can recommend"

"Rooms were clean, quiet and had everything you needed. This hotel is room only. You have a key for the front door to come in and out and key for your room. There is a number to contact the owners but only saw them when checking in. Rooms provide tea/coffee and bottled water. It’s a no nonsense hotel which has everything you need in your room for your stay."

"Beautiful decor in the lounge and dining room. Bedroom was lovely, clean and spacious. The down side was on arrival I checked in and was told to the pay for parking at a machine. I was there for 2 days and I was charged £30. I spoke to the receptionist and she said I must have put in pm. 9.15 is am to me and that's what I put in. The receipt said 21.15 hours. Receptionist gave me a number to ring but it kept hanging up. Very disappointed with that part of my weekend away."

"Staff were very friendly and helpful. Free parking but a little tight. Breakfast with a small fee was excellent. Sink and refrigerator were nice. 2 free water bottles. 10-15 minutes from city center. The room in the loft was not good at all. The ceiling on some parts were so short so I hit my head twice. No window. Only one small skylight"

"The room had damp and wood chip wallpaper that was hanging down from the ceiling!! At a cost of £145 per night !! I would have been better camping on the stray We moved rooms and guess what it was just as bad . It’s now reached the end of its life and needs a complete renovation of the hotels bedrooms or reduce the room prices to around £50 a night Stay at your own risk I won’t be I don’t leave reviews but I don’t want anyone else to waste there money"

Check in was easy, with info forwarded the morning of, so we could just get in, get the keys, and be on with our day. The proprietor let us check out later for a good price as my partner was unwell and needed extra time to recover. We appreciate the exceptional hospitality."

"Perfect location & great staff. We were in a first floor room which is really in need of an upgrade. Wrinkled carpet over loose & very, very creaky floorboards (making going to toilet during night a noisy affair!), tatty bed bases & filthy windows. Have stayed here before in a much better room & in hindsight I think I should have asked to be moved this time. Heard every movement in the corridor because of creaky floorboards & the wall between rooms obviously got no sound insulation - could...

"We where very happy with all facility. Overall the only problem we personally was the 3 steps going in and out of the property. The last step out is very steep and would have liked something to hold on too"
