"Nice clean room, in great location. Mostly staff were helpful apart from the time I waited five minutes to be served and the waitress then served the lady who just came in and totally ignored me. Food was excellent value for money. Overall a good visit and would definitely go back."

"The staff were great as was the breakfast which was a surprise. Check in/out etc was smooth but the hotel itself is dated and the rooms are stuck in the 70s. The musty smell of damp was awful so we tried to open the window to air it out and they only open about 3inches. The beds were uncomfortable and the shower was average and complicated. For close to £200 a night it was a complete rip off. If the gig wasn’t on in nearby Edinburgh I wouldn’t pay £50 to stay here again"

"The room was very spacious, especially as I had an unplanned injury before attending which resulted in my requiring a wheelchair. Despite the cleaners entering the room every day minus 1 where we chose not to have it cleaned, the room was not cleaned at all. Beds were always remade but that was it. No fresh toilet rolls, towels, water or tea/coffee. Just beds remade. The bar was lacking beer the whole time we were there and the breakfast was not a £15pp worth of food quality or quantity. "Breakfast was great, sauna was great, hot tub was cool and always going into a cleaning cycle. The front desk should have told us about the zoo discount at check in. All in all was a great stay but not quite the value for the high price. "

"The room itself was actually comfortable … so thank you. That said, the shower tray did not drain (yuk). The view from the room was pretty bad and the curb appeal of the property poor. This seems to be a growing trend in the UK and is saddens me … owners and operators need to find a little time to do these things if they want my money. Sorry … but I can’t avoid these points being made!"
