"Our room was excellent very quiet with lovely comfortable bed, nice bed linen, towels and plenty of tea&coffee etc. Breakfast was delicious. We ate evening meals at the hotel which were homemade and great quality and reasonable price. New owners have taken over hotel just over 2 mths ago and we found them to be very friendly, welcoming and hard working. "The room was clean and the breakfast was good The only issue was the stairs to the room as our room was on the 3 floors there were a lot of stairs to climb and we both OAP which was very tiring. On the hold it was a good experience but we would not stay again due to the stairs."

"Excellent place. We stayed in room 40 in the annexe for families. It has a big and comfortable main bed and bunk beds for kids. Clean and airy, very large room for family with great size bathroom. Pub food was excellent we had the chicken for dinner with wine all good, and sticky toffee pudding was generous size two could share. Overall a great place and convenient close to grasmere, Ambleside and the zip World. Great stay very pleased."

"Beautiful property with tasteful decor and a real homely feel. The car park is a real convenience right beside the hotel. Our room was immaculate and with a very large, very comfortable bed. A gorgeous view of the hills from the window really set the scene. The room also had a bath which was a bonus. "Wonderfully authentic Lakeland Inn.Our stay was peaceful with so many opportunities for walks straight from the door.Limited options available for dinner, would have appreciated more choices.cooked breakfast was very good but some yoghurt, fruit would have been welcome.Selection of beers at the bar was very good.The staff work extremely hard but we thought an extra member of staff would have helped to reduce waiting times at dinner and breakfast"

"The room was quite clean and the instructions to enter the property were quite clear. Parking can be a little tricky as it gets filled up during night time outside the property. However, there are options to park your car nearby. Overall, the stay was great as the room was comfortable and clean with a great view."

"Perfect place for a getaway. We were warmly welcomed by the host who straight away recommended places to go for dinner. Our room was lovely with a beautiful view of the countryside. We had a full English cooked for us which was spot on as we departed to climb scafell. We definitely would stay at this hotel again when we next visit the lakes "

"Perfect stay! The inn is lovely and cozy owned by a wonderful couple who made me feel right at home. The breakfast was great and very reasonably priced. They even agreed to store my baggage for several days while I hiked in the region. Can’t recommend enough!!"
