"Great location in the Gaslamp.
Travelers: Mom and 12yr old child.
The lobby looks much nicer in photos than it does in person. It’s not bad, but the pictures make it seem larger and more upscale than it actually is.
We stayed in a single room with a private bath. The room had a bit of an odd odor—likely a mix of an older building and cleaning products. The bed was a bunk (twin over full), which was unexpected; based on the photos, I thought it would be just a full-size bed. It was too squeaky...

"The location is fantastic but the place not so much. First time in a hostel an it was not the best experience. Cockroaches in the restroom, humidity and smelly rooms. Dirty carpets and not so friendly staff. Not good for the price we paid. "
