It's an 18th century cellar for goodness sake!!! Stone floors are part of the charm. It is cosy and warm at this time of year (and I imagine lovely and cool in the summer).I would definitely stay again for its location, its cleanliness and its hosts. Can't fault it except for the mattress, which is a bit "argos" and could do with a good...

"From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. Reception was clean and spacious, and check-in was so easy as we had checked in remotely before arrival. Our room (junior suite) was huge and really well equipped. Really comfy bed and an amazing nights sleep. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. This is a great place from which to explore Bristol as the bus stops right opposite the hotel. Clifton Village is a short walk away across Victoria Square and has some great shops, restaurants and cafes etc plus it's just a short walk to the Clifton Suspension Bridge. "
