"Clean room quiet area good condition"

"Stayed at the Black Dog Inn in Bolton for two nights. The room itself was comfortable enough for the price, so no major complaints there. However, the overall experience was disappointing. The first night was a write-off in terms of sleep. Staff gave a late booking to a couple who had been drinking in the pub, and they stayed up most of the night with the TV on at a very high volume. "Not the hotel but a party came back from Manchester at 1.00am and kept us up all night and we checked out at 4.30am and no offer of changing rooms or anything but sorry."

"Clean large room"

"Clean comfortable room. We have stayed here 3 times rooms are all alike and all have been clean. Breakfast is available cooked breakfast, cereal, fruit etc. Again we have always found breakfast adequate. Parking at the hotel is £5 for the night and again we have always been able to get parked. There is a nice bar in the hotel, staff this time were exceptional"

"I paid £40 for a double room for the night which I thought was a great deal. The room was clean and check in and out was easy and quick. I didn’t have breakfast and there was lots of on-site parking. The place is a bit dated but for the price I paid, I was very happy."

"It was pretty good overall. No light switch near the bed, the duvet was too heavy. I didn't like not having a key and it was a nuisance having to keep a note of codes and having to type them in every time you entered. Also, I didn't like receiving the codes at the last minute. But these are all minor points, overall it was good."

"We felt a bit deceived by the pictures and health suite which you it turns out you have to extra for. The health suite is the best part. The grounds are also very nice. However, we paid a lot of money for a room that was next to an outside staff area. There was lots of smoking and swearing at inconsiderate times when we were asleep very early morning."

"Spend 1 night here. Smallish room with a double bed. For me, the rooms are not sound proof. When someone next door was in the bathrooms, you could hear the water running/shower/sink. Also doors banged loudly. Cleanliness not 100%. The remote control was dirty, looks like it is never cleaned with a hygiene wipe. Same as the light switches, you could see all the grime from dirty hands. I sent a couple of messages to the hotel direct through Expedia and they never replied. I...

"We had no wifi at all .no blind at well overlooked by people having coffee at open doors on raised level opp room 206 no privacy . Bath taps didnt work towels looked grey not white Heating didnt work when we arrived lift broken for years as other guests told us too .No tissues in bathroom very poor restaurant set in beautiful grounds but not a good experience sadly "
