"Not really any staff for the rooms, clean, no tv in the bedroom, didn’t really see staff til the second day, when someone randomly walk in our room, didn’t knock or anything, kept getting text about an odor in the hallway, but didn’t smell anything. The food from the restaurant was good. Our patio was right above the smoking area outside so when we opened it up, cigarette smells came in really bad. Overall was and ok stay, just ok."

"First of all nobody should be allowed to stay at this property. From the outside it is scary looking. "Friendly staff and clean room. It wasn't an issue for us, but the bathroom door did not shut. That could definitely be awkward for some people. I saw some notices on the walls about strict polices that were not mentioned online, including no more than 2 people per room and no guests, but it wasn't an issue in our case since we just needed a place to crash for the night. The exterior could use some sprucing up. There was a shopping cart full of bricks and a few mattresses just chilling out front....

![The plantation received its name because it was the location of Captain John Smith's "New Fort," built in 1609, located directly across the James River from the Jamestown colony. The fort was quickly abandoned due to dry rot and a rat infestation.[4] The same land was later given by Chief Powhatan to John Rolfe as a dowry for the hand of Pocahontas when Rolfe and Pocahontas married. Archaeological surveys of the property have revealed that a number of structures have existed on the property and the present, restored main house was built by Jacob Faulcon in 1751.[6]
