"Such a nice place and reasonably priced for the area. My only complaint was a lack of blackout curtains in the room. In the summer the days last just about forever so having a dark room to sleep is important. The nice gal at the desk gave me some clips to keep the curtains from blowing open and that helped."

"We stayed at this hotel for about 8 hours between a flight and a cruise. It was clean and bare bones, but exactly what we needed. They picked us up at 2 am and took us back at 10 am. There is a Starbucks within walking distance. For what we needed it for, it was perfect."

We stayed at the puffin Inn across the street earlier in our Alaska vacay and while that was leaving a bit to be desired, we would much prefer being over there in the end. "This is such an odd hotel. It’s basically two new buildings in a gravel parking lot, nothing else around it. It’s a car drive to Seward, so be prepared that once you’re in your room, there’s nothing else around (except for a maintenance truck yard). The rooms themselves were clean and come with a full kitchen. Very functional but it was not “lodgey” at all. It suppose it’d be great if you’re staying a month. "The staff seemed consistently annoyed that i would bother them with requests, like checking in, or checking bags, or saying hello. At no point did i have a quality and professional interaction with a staff member. The facility is very dated and poorly kept. The hall carpet is old and faded, which sets the tone for the entire property. If this was a $75 a night hotel, i would say it met expectations. "This is basically an upscale motel. Room was very small. Staff was very rude with exception of the young man who picked us up to take our bags to the parking lot. Our first impression was from the lady with the beak screeching at us to move our car when we were trying to unload."

"The view from the main deck was absolutely incredible, but none of the rooms have a view. The staff are friendly, but there’s only so much they can do because the place is set up to extract as much profit from each guest as possible. Even refilling your own coffee mug costs $4.75. The rooms and food are pretty mediocre. Also there’s no AC, and it got very warm in our room."
