"While the room was fabulous. We were overcharged £60 on dinner. It honestly felt like a scam. The only reason we picked up on it was because we had to confirm if we wanted payment in pounds or dollars. The restaurant manager had to come over and refund. When I asked how such a thing could even happen his reply was “you got a refund”. Really appalling. Thank goodness we caught it. "The Municipal is a lovely hotel, communal areas are fabulous, it is in a great location and was immaculate. We booked it for my birthday due to it being the only 5 star hotel in Liverpool and thought we would give it a try, we normally stay in the Titanic hotel, however I’m not really sure why it is classed as a 5 star hotel. "Very clean.lovely newly refurbished bathroom. Probably the best shower I have had in a hotel room. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is very convenient for the train and bus stations. Also museums all within walking distance. I would have liked a softer pillow but apparently they were all the same.But that was the only problem we encountered. The lounge is stunning."

"The reception was woefully understaffed for days and despite doing the best job they could the only two staff had to deal with all check ins checkouts luggage and advice for a full hotel. Queues down the street on two days to check in and check out. Staff wonderful; management appalling."

"Exceptional hotel. Absolutely superb value for money. I researched this hotel and the reviews were spot on. Very high quality throughout - the rooms, beds, staff. The location is also perfect. Opposite Albert Dock and a 2 minute walk to Liverpool One. You are around a 10/15 minute walk from the James/Castle/Mathew St nightlife. But there are a couple of excellent bars in the Albert Dock too Very little else to say. Book this hotel with absolute confidence. Fantastic stay"
