Good movie night. Breakfast was good. Room was clean,good. Excellent staff. Not many bicycles and were in rough shape, rented from down the street.

Pictures are a little better than reality. Lots of little upkeep needs, and a lot of mildew and water damage. The bathroom really needs a vent to dry things out and prevent so much water-related issues. In the first room I had, water was coming in like a slow waterfall in the main room along an entire wall, dripping above the bed.

Not good. Horrible smell, staff not friendly, asked if they could change the room and forced to pay for upgrade. Expedia also could not convince the hotel for the upgrade as what they advertised is not what you get. They didn't even want to refund. Renovation going on. There are many other good places you can get less than their rate. Beware booking unless if want to be stuck with awful place in middle of a small island. Highly not recommended!

Location, location, location! Was up every morning for sunrise. Always seemed to end up at hotel restaurant for my meals. Staff super helpful on anything I needed. Snorkeling boats anchored on beach so not ideal for swimming but very clean. Five minute walk to great swim and snorkeling beaches.

Nice, but some issues.
It was a nice hotel BUT what anyone failed to mention was the beach it’s 100m away from is unusable!! We didn’t swim in a beach once in Gili Air because they were so far away and claimed by other hotels. Our room had a semi-open shower and bathroom which meant that when it rained (almost the whole time) our bathroom was flooded and covered in a spray of water. By the end of the trip we asked for a bucket and in one day we emptied it 5 times. They really need to look at the drainage in the rooms. That being said, I loved the pool, the location was beautiful, and I had a relaxing time.

GREAT HOTEL..AWFUL PONY ABUSE BY OVERLOADING TOURI
The hotel is lovely. Needs a few hooks and shelves in room, but only small tweaks needed. Staff work hard to please. Breakfast fills the hunger, orange squash not juice. Tea and coffe awful. Our real gripe was the abuse to the ponies. ONLY TWO PASSENGERS AND LUGGAGE!!! The drivers load 4 or more heavy tourists and cases plus driver and force child’s sized ponies to pull these overloaded crude carts. They work 12 hour days, little shelter from hot sun, sores and open wounds under collars and over-tight girth’s under bellies . When too many people climb in, makes cart lift pony up as only 2 wheels. Avoid cocky young drivers who show off and cause most pain. They beat most and yank mouths backwards. Spoiled our stay.

Lovely hotel with restaurant viewing the sea
The hotel is near to the ferry port where easily walk about 5 mins away. There were no cars on the island. Their restaurant provided nice food including bbq buffet, also nice breakfast buffet. You can seat with nice sea view. The staff were very friendly. Our bedroom is nice comfortable room but the bathroom is quite small. Our balcony has a view of a swimming pool. We can recommend that hotel to everyone. I see the buildings in the island were mostly hand built because there were no transport, so I am impressed with our hotel.

We had a really good stay here. The room was nice and clean, ours was facing the pool. The staff are very friendly and pleasant. We would definitely book at the Villa Karang again!

I only stayed one night in this hotel. The service at reception is friendly. It is good to sit and have an included cooked breakfast, or have lunch right next to water and all the activity at the harbour. The swimming pool is nice and clean and has a grass area near it, and it didn't feel too crowded. My room was nice, big and clean and overlooked the swimming pool. I heard some noise of kids playing and slamming doors in the room next to me, but when it got late at night, I knocked gently on the wall to let them know they needed to be more quiet, and they did kindly respond, so I was able to sleep fine. I could when I woke up in the morning hear the breathing of the person in the next room, so I suspect the noise insulation between rooms is not great. The water pressure is not great either and I struggled to get any hot water out of the shower, but given the hot climate and that fact that I was staying only one night, I didn't mind too much. Overall it is a good hotel for the price. If I were to stay many nights thoughts I would try to make sure that I Have hot water.

Great place, central location
Nice place that was clean and well kept, breakfast buffet was okay. Too many families (kids) making it a bit noisy. No beach near by, but 15 minutes walk in either direction gets you to one, and right in the middle of the entire southern restaurant strip and busy area. No water pressure in upstairs room shower.

Very good hotel!
Our room was very clean, we had a nice view of the ocean from our balcony. The staff was very kind and helpful, it was nice having breakfast on the seaside. Would definitely go back there again !!

This is only an average hotel nothing flash but okay for the price. Could do with a bit of a clean up, pool cloudy and lawns could do with a mow.Breakfast was very average with some hot food cold and not much choice

Great location
Close to the harbor. This was a big plus for us with large packs. An easy walk in either direction to all activities available on the island. Pleasant staff who are courteous and thorough. Clean and spacious room. Great breakfast.

The staff are excellent and very attentive. Buffet breakfast was good, something different everyday. Had a great time on Gili. The people are really nice. It's beautiful here. Would go again for sure

Possibly the nicest hotel on Gili Air
Close to the beach and a short walk to the ferry terminal. The staff are super friendly and there is a good pool. Breakfast was included, and while freshly cooked omelettes and pancakes were welcome, it could be improved. The restaurant which borders the sea shore has a lovely moving view of the boats, and the food is good quality!

Overall it's good hotel but they need to improve on breakfast quality. Everything was served cold and when I complained they put small candle to warm up the food. Other then that nice hotel with very convenient location

Location is a winner!
Convenient location just a short walk from the jetty so it was easy to walk over with our luggage. The area around the hotel is quiet & relaxing, but 3 mins away from bars on the west coast where you can watch the sunset on the beach, and about 10 mins walk to the more lively east coast of Gili Island. Rent a bicycle to get around a little faster. We stayed in a Standard Room which was pretty average and had no view. It could do with a fresh coat of paint. There was no fridge or hairdryer in the room, and only one power outlet. Breakfast is provided but is very basic, I would suggest going elsewhere for a more interesting breakfast. The hotel staff are extremely courteous!

Nice stay, great staff & good location
The hotel was very easy to find and the location was a minute walk away from everything. Once we arrived the front staff upgraded our room without charge. The room was very clean and well maintained. Great Stay!

Quiet expensive for the conditions of the hotel
Never book deluxe room, not worth it because the only difference with the superior is that is a little bit bigger. They dont change the towels every day, not even the clothes for the beds. Cleaning is poor. We arrived there to spend a couple of nights and they didnt even fill the soap cointainer for the shower. They wanted to give us a very bad matress do we had to complain to get a better one. Such a shame because the staff is extremely nice and they try to do their best but with the limitations of the management team

We had a standard room, which in places was a bit tired aesthetically, but perfectly clean with a great bed, th and fridge (and good working aircon - essential!) Location was superb right next to the port so not far to carry your bags, and about 5 mins walk to south east beach or south west beach where all the bars / restaurants are. Compared to other places we saw this place seems the best value by far. You can pay a bit more for a deluxe room, which I think is a bit bigger and more touched up aesthetically, but essentially the same. The pool area is great and you can order food drink etc by the pool or to your room. Breakfast also great - best variety on our whole trip to Bali / Gili
