Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh
8/10 Good
"Room was comfortable. However, elevator (not working) was not fixed over the 4 days we were there. There was a smaller elevator available"

CODE - The Court, Edinburgh

"I would recommend this hostel to anyone needing to stay in the heart of The Royal Mile. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of five is because their wifi went out while I was staying in their lower level which has no connection to mobile networks at all. Which is another thing- I wish I'd known this was a possibility when I booked because I traveled alone and NEEDED to have connection back home (small female traveling alone). However when their wifi went out, I was able to eventually get someone to move my bunk to somewhere their wifi was working. For that, I am so thankful. It did take a little bit to find someone willing to help my situation. There was a moment where I was discouraged from moving.
Their facilities are clean and well maintained. I felt safe here as access to any and all doors required a unique code to you. I wish there had been a sign or something letting me know they had towels for hire and where to get them. I ended up having to ask other guests. One of the best things about my stay was the staff. The general manager saw me alone and upset and went way out of her way to make me feel welcomed. All the night staff were amazing. They truly care about you and how youre feeling and all are just the friendliest in the world. Any bad stigmas about hostels should be disspelled here. You'll be safe, have anything you need and its so affordable too. Also very convenient that its connected to a bar/restaurant/coffeehouse. I'd definitely recommend and stay again."

The Resident Edinburgh
10/10 Excellent
"Nice location, Restaurants very close, hop on and hop off stop like 5 minutes walking distance . Hotel staff very helpfull and warm ."

Mount Royal Hotel Edinburgh by The Unlimited Collection
6/10 Okay
"Great location, and is within walking distance to the train station. The room could use some work however. The bathroom door was warped and could not close. The shower sprays out onto the floor. There is a lack of shelf space, and no drawers, so you will live out of your suitcase. Very noisy with the sound of slamming doors and voices from other rooms. The staff were friendly though.

YOTEL Edinburgh

"The room was so nice and everyone was so friendly and supportive. The adjustable beds were fantastic! Being able to order food 24/7 was such a nice feature!"

Apex Waterloo Place Hotel
6/10 Okay
"For this being a 4-star hotel and for the price I paid, it left a lot to be desired. Faux leather furniture had extensive scuff marks. Black mold in the shower area. Found nail clippings on the bedside table. Yellow "gelatinous" gunk inside the mini fridge. Not much of views (I would recommend staying somewhere on Princes Street for spectacular views of the gardes across the street and the Edinburgh Castle). On the positive side, the rooms at the Apex Waterloo are a good size and the location is very convenient to bus/tram stops, Waverly Rail Station, bus station and St. James Quarter. Good variety of restaurants close by if you didn't feel like going into Old Town for dinner after coming back from a tour."
