"Perfect location, beautiful hotel, friendly staff - - we splurged on the breakfast one morning and it didn't disappoint. Loved all the amenities. The value was incredible for the low price we paid. Wish we had stayed longer!"

"This hotel is an old-school 5-star hotel with doormen, concierge service, etc. I say "old-school" because it shows in the decor: quite conservative, a bit dated especially when compared to a more modern 5-star hotel. But the staff across the board are wonderful, incredible polite, and happy to be of service in every way. Very typical of professional Japanese service. One obvious weakness: The "business" center is one simple computer. But the rooms are equipped with healthy wi-fi so I didn't need the services of a business center. It is wonderfully located in Kyoto with tons of restaurants and shopping near by."
