"Small but lovely property with friendly receptionist who spoke good English. We stayed in the garden room on the ground floor which was a little dark even during the day, but very nice. Easy walk to the station was a bonus."

"The Mitsui Garden Hotel in Kyoto was lovely. It’s clean and modern with all of the amenities needed for a great stay. The room and bathroom was comfortable. I was traveling with a friend and I feel like we had adequate space. Our only grip was that they only have a limited set of washers and dryers available on the third floor. "Great location, walking distance from Kyoto Station, property was very well maintained and the cleanliness was top notch. We didn’t eat breakfast as it was more meat lovers. I would definitely recommend this property for families."

"Maybe it’s because I’ve gotten used to the extreme cleanliness of Japanese Hotels but this hotel was incredibly filthy in comparison. There were stains and hair all over the carpet. There was a vacuum that they gave to be used to clean during your stay shared with the rest of the floor but it was basically useless and wouldn’t pick up a single pice of hair or trash. The sticky pad that was available had a bunch of hair clumped on the handle. The rooms are quite large but the layout is not good....

There was a minor mix-up at the beginning, because we had shipped our luggage ahead of time from Osaka, the hotel staff put our luggage in our rooms before we checked in but they mixed up my luggage with someone else's so I had to take the misplace luggage downstairs and retrieve mine.
