We stayed at Andaz London for five days. Overall, the experience was decent, with clear strengths and some drawbacks.
The location is excellent – very well connected by bus and train, making it easy to get around London quickly.
The King room was adequately sized and well equipped. The minibar was refilled daily, and the espresso machine with fresh capsules was a nice touch. Bathroom size is fine, and the toiletries smell great.
However, there are several issues. The bed is positioned directly next to the entrance door, which is poorly soundproofed – hallway noise is clearly audible, especially at night. The windows were very dirty, making the room feel dark, and they cannot be opened.
The bathroom setup is also problematic: the door cannot be closed quietly, and the frosted glass lets light through. Combined with a mirror opposite, the light reflects into the room – very disruptive at night.
We recommend requesting a street-facing room, as views into the atrium or toward elevators are not appealing.
Service at reception felt rather disengaged – basic friendliness and eye contact were often missing.
The biggest downside is the lack of character. Most of the building’s history has been renovated away; only the bar retains some charm.
Conclusion: Great location and solid basics, but overall not a hotel we would choose again.
