The problem I encountered was the small spotlights were flickering which made reading or knitting difficult so the first night I lay on the floor by the bathroom door to read as these lights did not flicker. "I am so happy we stayed at the Pilsley Inn. It is located in a lovely little village just outside of Chatsworth House. I felt like I had stepped back in time. We only stayed one night as our itinerary was very full, but I would definitely recommend this Inn. the people were friendly, and it was a perfect stay for my English holiday!"

"The room was very clean and tidy! Staff are very friendly, the breakfast is amazing very filling! And the parking is very easy too access but when there are a few guests staying the car park can get very tight, overall really good and best bit its only 17 mins drive too Alton towers from there "

"A nice modern hotel. Clean and comfortable on a main road that will allow you to travel out to a bunch of different riding and hiking spots conveniently. Staff were friendly and as mentioned it was lovely and clean. Only recommendation would be to bring some earplugs if you’re a light sleeper and you happen to be in a room looking out on to the road. The windows are thick but seemingly not enough to block out noise from passing vehicles. "

"This place is quaint but not super welcoming. The cottage was cute but not the comfiest beds. We didn’t get a code to check in and didn’t realise the reception would be unmanned. The continental breakfast was a bit odd - self service without clear instructions. Wasn’t all put out at 8am and then a girl came and brought some more things. Had to make our own coffee. "

"Loved this place. The setting is beautiful as was our room. A real mixture of old and new that worked perfectly. The staff were really friendly and attentive and we truly felt welcome. We opted for the pie for dinner and I can honestly say, it was the best pie I have ever eaten. The pastry was amazing and it was filled to the max with the ham and leek. "Rooms clean & tidy. Very old property which means its a bit creaky and quirky. Main areas need some life putting back in to it as it looks tired & unloved. Breakfast was a good selection. Ideal central location for bars, restaurant, high street, park & Opera House. Ideal for a stopover in Buxton."
