"We stayed during the recent heatwave and the fan in the room was very poor, which resulted in 2 sleepless nights!"

"We only had 1 night stay and it was great. The building has history and character just like Harrogate itself. Check-in was very quick, we had a parking space reserved which was brilliant. The room we had was on the 2nd floor and was adequate for our needs a double bed which was comfy. The amenities for coffee/tea including biscuits was good. The bathroom had a shower over the bath with toiletries in bottles on the wall. Plenty of towels. Good size all round even when it was listed as a cosy...

"We stayed over for the concert at the open air. The hotel was clean and well maintained- all the staff were polite and friendly. Our room was clean. The bar was lovely and the restaurant and breakfast was perfect. The en-suite was very small but clean. The only thing that would have meant full star rating would have been a better parking arrangement, - a quality mattress and blackout curtains. That being said we would definitely stay here again."

"I'd say our stay was average. The room was clean, except for the windows which were covered in hand prints. Both of the silver finish plates around the shower controls were loose and not attached to the walls. The restaurant food was ok......I saw customers wait for accompanying sides well after their mains were delivered. We ordered 1 large glass of house white and 1 red with our meal. The white came in a large glass but the red came in a small glass filled to the brim as they had no large...

"Ideal location for us, just a short 10-min walk to the town centre. Our room was spacious and bathroom appeared recently renovated. Staff were very friendly and helpful. As it is a very old building, the floorboards were a bit creaky and woodwork (skirting boards, window frames, architraves) looked tired with their years of layered paint, but we had a comfortable stay. The free parking was a bonus."

"Unfortunately this stay was not enjoyable at all. The place overall is very run down, the bed is an old springy bed with huge "roll together" and so soft you end up touching the base. The air conditioning didn't work, the windows hardly open at all due to security reasons and the room was stifling hot and very stuffy which resulted in next to no sleep. She would have been stunning in her day, but it's long, long gone. Not worth the money."

"lovely place, nice rooms and bathrooms. lovely sea view from high floor room although it is alot of stairs to walk up. Doors use a code to open which is easy to use. Top floor room did get quite hot and only had one small roof window to open, a fan would be a helpful addition in summer months"

"Brilliant property, stayed here with our staff for the weekend while racing at Croft. Not far from the circuit, beautiful little pub, huge rooms, very spacious and clean. Found a little gem with this place and we will be back 100%."

"Management didn't think about the impact of the hot weather as the room was so hot and they supplied a tiny fan that did nothing to cool the room. Lots of spots in the hotel needs updating or repairing. Both the staff and the leisure amenities were great."
