"It has a great location along the river in Arishyama. It is close to shops and restesturaunts as well. It offers traditional style Japanese rooms and some fantastic traditional dining as well. We asked for a change to our accommodations and staff were very willing to accommodate. Over all would recommend this hotel."

"Loved this traditional stay in Kyoto, the breakfast was great and the tub in the bathroom was so relaxing after a long day of walking. The only thing is if you don’t have a car rental it can be tricky planning your day based on the bus routes. The bus stop is only a minute walk away but if you miss a bus you may have to wait a while for the next one. Overall loved staying here!"

"The staff were so friendly and helpful, we loved the traditional breakfast, they were accommodating to my husband who can’t eat fish. They have a courtesy bus that takes you to Arashiyama which I didn’t know and so glad they suggested. The futons are hard but I got used to them. They also said their onsen is tattoo friendly. But most of the place is in such a spectacular forest it was so pretty in the late autumn I will definitely be going back. "

"We loved this experience. We opted for the dinner and breakfast option - eating overlooking a beautiful zen garden which we explored. Family loved the hospitality of the staff and the unique experience. From checking your shoes at the door to eating and sleeping on the floor - it felt truly authentic and something they had mastered over the years. The area around it is also very beautiful- doing the philosopher’s walk and seeing the temples and then coming back to this place was magical."
