"The staff were so friendly and helpful, we loved the traditional breakfast, they were accommodating to my husband who can’t eat fish. They have a courtesy bus that takes you to Arashiyama which I didn’t know and so glad they suggested. The futons are hard but I got used to them. They also said their onsen is tattoo friendly. But most of the place is in such a spectacular forest it was so pretty in the late autumn I will definitely be going back. "

"We loved the staff and hospitality at Momijiya. My husband said it felt like we were staying at our grandma's house. We loved the ryokan experience as well. We really felt we were getting a more intimate Japanese experience. The food really put us Americans out of our comfort zone, but we wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Our rooms were quaint with nice view, and the comforters on our futons were incredible comfortable. Like sleeping inside a warm cloud. This is a great spot to feel...

"Very refined and traditional inn, where the incredibly gracious host makes you feel straight at home. Breakfast is lovely, the whole hotel is spotless, and the onsen bath is a definite highlight. "Our stay was great. We had 11 family members including 5 kids. Staff member was really kind. Accommodate baggage check in before check in hours. I dropped off bags myself earlier while other members travel. Staff helped to carry and secure. Garden and dining were good a feeling of old Kyoto style. Only down side was the dinner that we reserved ahead as per email instructions (if not in advance, we wouldn’t secure spots. Makes sense that time as we have 11 members. Also location is a bit isolated...
