"I stay here a lot. The traveling band I play with plays in OBX much of the summer.Rooms are always clean and comfortable. Staff is always friendly and helpful. The location is good for someone looking to spend time on the beach. The free breakfast is always a good way to start the day. I will continue to stay here as long as I visit the OBX."

"Solid choice in Kill Devil Hills. Location is right on the beach with direct access. Nice pool for a change of pace after the ocean. Breakfast was fine. Within walking distance, or a short drive, to several shops & restaurants. Reception staff was very helpful and professional. Room was large with a balcony and view of the beautiful ocean. Only slight criticism is some of the grounds and building exteriors are looking a little worse for wear but that won’t stop me from going back!"

"The pool was nice. Breakfast was fine we had to wait pretty long for towels etc— when they were delivered the wash cloths were grey and very stained - looked like cleaning rags. Also, while I understand dogs are permitted, I don’t think they should be in the area while breakfast is being served. Overall, it was disappointing considering the cost of the room."

"Great decks and green spaces and pool. Balconies were lovelywith nice chairs for morning coffee or afternoon HH. Convenient location."

"Early and easy check in. Bed is what you expect for a cheaper property. Not high quality but good for a night or two. Only reason not 5 star is the older man in a red polo who worked there walking around and staring down guest. Spoke with another person staying and we were making jokes he was staring us down as we had our morning cigarette outside."

"Room was clean, no one at front desk had to call a number, was there 3 days room never got cleaned while staying. The outdoor shower at pool to rinse sand off feet was broke. So had sand tracked in our room and room never got cleaned while we was out. Asked staff for extra towels and she didn’t speak English. But let me get 2 towels off her cart. "I stayed here in the early 1980s, when I was in my early teens. It has been upgraded since then, but still provided that wonderful nostalgic feeling I had when I first visited the Outer Banks! "This place was terrible. The pullout mattress wasn't fit for my dog. They say it sleeps four but the mattress was not only terrible they didn't provide an extra blanket. We arrived about 30mins before the office was supposed to close coming to find out no one operates the office and the phone number didnt work.
