"Close to everywhere"

"This was the very best hotel and staff. The room was lovely. Staff were friendly, and they couldn't do enough for you. They would do anything in their power to make your stay a pleasurable experience. I would strongly recommend the stay, with the Marina literally two minutes away, and the town center a 10 minute walk away. My only problem was the food. It's not the best, and don't have the breakfast you'll be wasting your money, it has very poor quality ingredients. You'd be better off eating...

"Room was stinking, stains all over the carpet, bath was stinking full of black pieces so didn't even use the shower as I didn't want to stand in there, room was really outdated, hotel was really run down, reception area was nice but the hotel it self is really outdated and run down, bed was comfy but room felt really dirty, stinking around the window areas, breakfast was ok not much choice but it was ok, fruit flies come out of the grapes. I wouldn't stay here again."

"The Hotel looked really nice from outside but BEWARE booking this hotel on Expedia. We booked a room over a year in advance and after driving 300 miles for 6 hours the desk workers informed us that the hotel doesn't actually recognise booking made through Expedia. We were not informed of this until we turned up only to find we had no where to stay for the night. Expedia were incredibly unhelpful on the phone and after an hour of trying to sort out their mistakes I hung up the phone and sorted...

"The room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff were enormously pleasant. The AC could've been cooler, but it likely had to do with the hotel's commitment to being environmentally friendly. The location was also great, being fairly close to the train station and situated close to plenty of shops."

"The Parkgate is centrally located and a fantastic option when visiting Cardiff. The service is great and the room was well appointed. The breakfast buffet was really good!"

"Lovely location with Wooky Holes on the doorstep of the Hotel. Room was basic but clean and had everything you'd want fir an overnight stay. Lovely grounds for a walk. Only negative was bath taps had hot water, but the shower had only had cold water. The mixer thermostat was obviously faulty. Talking to other guests, this seemed to be a common fault as others said their shower only had cold water too."

"The hotel is tired and has an overwhelming smell of stale smoke in the hallways and bedrooms. Staff were friendly but miscommunication between the front desk and housekeeping, meant that requests were missed or forgotten. Best bit of the hotel is the bar and outdoor terrace. The pool was lovely but the changing rooms were not. Definitely gives off conference vibes - would not stay there for pleasure."

"The hotel is very picturesque and still has it's original charm of the old coal exchange the bedroom (presidential suite) was comfortable but needed a refresh the headboard and the bottom of the bed looked worn out the room needed to be dusted on the wardrobe and hoovered fully the jacuzzi bath tub was very relaxing and nice to sit and chill in the bath , the breakfast was fresh and tasty there was plenty of food choose from hot and cold the toaster took a long time to warm up and toast the...
