"We cannot say enough great things about The Izla Beach Front Hotel. Even before we arrived, they were very helpful & quick to respond to our requests for assistance . They helped arrange airport-ferry-hotel transportation and, after we experienced several flight delays, they were gracious enough to communicate with the shuttle service about our changes in arrival time. Once we arrived, the beauty of the hotel and its location were immediately evident. Perfectly positioned towards the southern end of the island, away from the busier northern end, we felt at peace right away. We highly recommend the all-inclusive package if you plan on sticking around the hotel for most of your trip as we did. It was well worth it. This brings us to our favorite part of our vacation: The hotel staff. Always pleasant; always friendly. They made us feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. Something we haven’t experienced much even traveling domestically. We honestly can’t say enough about them. We wish we could remember all of their names, but frequency brings memory. At breakfast and lunch, Crisandra & Sharon greeted us as we entered the Izla Cafe. Upon being seated, we were once again welcomed by Gerardo, Carlos, Rodrigo, or Russel, but usually all four. They greeted us like old friends each time. In the evening, Jose Luis was there to make sure our dinner needs were met. Speaking of needs, Virgilio & Reyes were more than happy to oblige ours at the poolside bar. We can’t wait to return."

"The ocean view king room is in a state of disrepair. The balcony door does not latch, so a slide lock was added but this does not seal it enough to keep out the stink from the sewage treatment plant. Blinds covered in handprints, grubby walls, water damaged main door, heavily corroded bathroom mirrors, no hot water and a very sad breakfast to boot. We prepaid for one week and left after one night - the property refused any refund (all the booking options we saw were non-refundable) BEWARE."

"3 weeks before our trip the property reached out saying there was a "glitch" and we would no longer get the 4-bedroom unit on the first floor we paid for. Instead they downgraded us to a second floor 3 bedroom unit with double beds instead of queens. Without any mention of monetary compensation. It took over a week of pleading for them to change it to a 3 bedroom with queen beds. "

"Quiet, safe, very comfy beds... I slept like a baby every night! I enjoyed the area under the Papala, where people gathered for breakfast or just to hang out. Helpful and kind staff."

"While the property had great possibility, sadly the entire stay felt disjointed due to the way things are run. Example- rooftop pool that has no food/bar available…even though there is a restaurant on the rooftop. The hotel advertised that the rooftop bar was open at 3pm, yet we never saw any staff there until the restaurant prepped to open. The staff seemed undertrained and consistently put into circumstances where they were unsure of how to fulfill a request. Again, while the property was nice, I would not recommend returning until management irons out quite a few wrinkles. "

"Amazing resort. 10/10 experience. Highly recommend. You have to get the signature room with the hot tub. The sunsets are amazing. The beach and pools are awesome. Just an amazing resort. "
